ProMass at ASMS 2001
A poster entitled Automated LC/MS Profiling of Proteins Using the ProMass Protein Molecular Weight Data Browser was presented at the 49th ASMS conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics in Chicago, Illinois. You can download a full copy of the poster or the extended abstract by clicking one of the links below:
In the poster we detailed our next version of ProMass which has been completely re-written in Perl 5. We also introduced a new ESI/MS biomolecule deconvolution engine known as ZNova. ZNova employs a new charge state scoring scheme which deconvolutes (or transforms) ESI/MS protein and peptide spectra to produce zero-charge mass spectra that are artifact free. A version of ProMass built on ZNova technology is now being offered for ThermoFinnigan's Xcalibur data system. More information about ProMassXcali is available here. Please contact us if you are interested in these products. Below is an example of the use of ZNova on an input spectrum of low signal-to-noise. The ESI/MS spectrum (top) was obtained from a crude purification of a 40 kDa target protein. The ZNova deconvolution is shown at the bottom, which reveals two closely-spaced 41 kDa components.
